We fostered a number of eastern gray squirrel babies that were found alone after Hurricane Irma came through this year (2017). My wife works at a vet clinic at which the primary vet does wildlife work pro bono. We fostered the babies and when the vet gave them the OK, they were sent off to a local wildlife rehabilitator to be learn how to be squirrels in a large outside enclosure to eventually be released into the wild as adults.
