Black water

When I was in this cypress dome swamp during a rainstorm, the water looked almost like oil! Despite this water only being couple feet deep, tannins from organic material in the swamp leached into the water give it a dark appearance. If you look closely however, it's actually fairly clear (low turbidity), much like a dark tea or a light coffee.
