We went out to watch the launch of the top secret Zuma craft on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket tonight. It was absolutely amazing to see this launch this close! This was my first time photographing a launch like this and I certainly learned a lot! I learned that apparently the spot I selected was way too close to capture the whole thing in one shot even with my wide angle lens. I also decided that I will absolutely take a second camera next time to either do a video or be able to zoom in on the first stage separation because it looked damn awesome! What was equally awesome to me was that the roar and rumble of the rocket set off a bunch of alligators around us bellowing in response!
