Five-lined skink scales
This is either a southeastern five lined (Plestiodon inexpectatus) or a five lined (Plestiodon fasciatus) This shot shows some mites accumulated in a spot where they can get to soft tissue

Cottonmouth with injuries or possibly fungal disease
We found this large cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorus) during the fall bioblitz at Split Oak. It was a nice surprise as I never had seen one there prior to that. Upon closer inspection it seems like the poor snake either had a fungal infection or some gnarly old battle wounds.
